Sheila Ramirez- Family Center Coordinator

My name is Sheila Ramirez, and I am the Family Center Coordinator. It is a pleasure and honor to be part of this community.

As part of an immigrant family and experiencing the scarcity of resources and opportunities first-hand, I know how that can affect the well-being of students and families. As I entered the school environment in the West Contra Costa School District over 15 years ago, it became my passion to support families. Although I have taken different roles from student tutor to a secretary, my greatest joy was being a Community Liaison, because it gave me the opportunity to work with the whole family. It is my personal goal to support Venetia Valley in the ongoing effort to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all of our students and their families. If you need my help, don't hesitate to contact me.

Kristal Garcia - Family Advocate

Hello! My name is Kristal Garcia and I am a family advocate at the Family Center. I was born and raised here in Marin County attending Venetia Valley all throughout my elementary and middle school years. I'm a first generation College graduate from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management. I’m the mother of a 4 year old son so I now understand both being a student and a parent in this community. This is my fourth year working at Venetia Valley and I’m so grateful to continue working alongside our families. As a passionate advocate I strive to be the voice for both our students and their families; acknowledging that this might look different to every person. Our doors will always be open, I can’t wait to work with all of you this year and in years to come.
